Back Home Nicodemusly And Incommunicado

All-around, all-around, wherever and however you go you see Nigeria round 'aboutly'. Yeah people and indeed Nigerians had fantasized that our amiable, soft spoken and rule of the law exponent president of the so-called Federal Republic of Nigeria after a brief sick sojourn in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia would return home to the fabulous protocol fanfare/accolades of the presidency/warm embrace of the citizens, as was the case when he jetted out on November 23, 2009; but this was not to be, rather he 'nicodemusly' returned at dead of the night unannounced under strict secret cover with the airport lights and lightings turned off when the air ambulance landed, followed by the Presidential jet with the heavy presence of the military and other uniform organizations cordoning off the area and erecting an iron curtain between the presidential wing and the anxious media outfits and airport staff. Having been kept at bay for about 300 meters, the presidential convoy including a sophiscated Ford Ambulance evacuated the President and his entourage and headed to the city centre probably to the Also Rock villa after which the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport lights/lightings returned.

The confusion which this sudden drama would have unleashed on the country and her citizens was cleared early in the morning when Segun the Press Secretary on behalf of president Yar'Adua thanked Nigerians for their prayers, cooperation, understanding, especially Dr. Jonathan for wonderfully and skillfully covering state matters during his short 3 months absence, and accordingly directed Jonathan to graciously “vice or act on” while he 'hibernates/recuperates on' pending when his Doctors would declare him medically, physically, psychologically, philosophically, tactically and spiritually fit to assume his presidency. Meanwhile, an air of controversy rumour, confusion etc had enveloped the Presidency with the cabinet singing discordant tunes as to who gives directives, takes directives from and in what capacity; while supporters of Jonathan called him Acting President, his opponents and die-hard supporters of the ailing President mockingly called him Vice President, and this scenario while it lasted, left the acting President negatively palpitating with worrisome anxiety and really plunged/planted Jonathan in the greatest imbroglio of his tenure at the Presidency resulting in the botch-up of the mandatory weekly Wednesday Federal Executive Council meeting pending the aftermath of his meeting/or audience/or briefing with Turai (now the face in front of the mask) and never the President who exists in incognito/ incommunicado haba!

For Federal Executive meeting, well, to be or not to be if Yar' Adua must host will depend on the availability of a commodious Ambulance to accommodate a large Federal Executive Council meeting, either in the hired Saudi Arabian Monarch Air Ambulance if it is still in the country or an expensive and sophisticated type befitting this great gigantic country to be designed and manufactured. Until this is done, the executive council meeting might well remain in the cooler. God forbid, and thank God for on 25th February, 2010 the hullabaloo and its attendant disastrous consequences which could have engulfed our giant of Africa was quickly averted when Yar'Adua through Segun Adeniyi - the image maker of the President dispelled rumours that the first lady had taken over as the President duly reaffirmed/confirmed Jonathan as the acting President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces

With this reaffirmation, ubiquitous Turai and her' kitchen cabinet' has been consigned to the role of nursing and protecting her sick husband who has remained incommunicado even to Jonathan who now paddles on state matters including headship of the Federal Executive Council. But before you say hurray, don't be surprised that Nigeria, like a roller-coaster, is perpetually struck by the age-old incongruity/strange infirmities of lie-lie, utoto, wayo, jibiti, njakri, mago-mago, bri-bri, wuruwuru which sadly leave her straight jacketed in the more-you-look-the-less-you-see toga.

May God help and save Nigeria the great nation with good people all round and all about.
