Flying Eagles For South Africa Tourney

Nigeria's Under-20 team, the Flying Eagles, are expected to depart for South Africa on Tuesday ahead of an invitational tournament that would help test some of the facilities to be used at the World Cup in June.

The four-nation tournament, organised by the city of Cape Town, will also feature hosts South Africa, Ghana and Brazil.

The core of the Flying Eagles will be the country's team who lost in the final of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, which the country hosted in November.

However, coach John Obuh has disclosed that key players like Sani Emmanuel, who was adjudged best player of the U-17 World Cup, and Stanley Okoro will not be available for the tournament as they are currently in Europe on trials.

Obuh plans to use this tournament to prepare his team for the qualifying campaign for the 2011 African Youth Championship.
