UDOEDEHE: LIKE CHRIST, ANSWERING THE CALL

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder
- (Isaiah 9 vs. 6).

Not too long ago I wrote, and of course, I dedicated a write-up to you where I likened our dear state (Akwa Ibom) to George Orwell's Animal Farm due to some people's behaviors which resemble the animals in the novel.

Now, having seen and become convinced that God has answered our prayers by sending a messiah to us a messiah who has the political will to stamp out assassination, kidnapping, hunger, unemployment, political gangsterism, philistinism, terrorism and deceit from our polity in the person of the Distinguished Senator J.J. Akpanudoedehe.

It is therefore incumbent upon me who has seen beyond the physical to write and earnestly dedicate this very piece (which is the conclusion of the former) to you, oh my most excellent mentor, Udeme Uyoata. For you to share in my research and conclusion, perhaps, become totally convinced that Senator J.J. Akpan Udoedehe's governorship declaration/ political journey resemble that of Jesus Christ while on earth.
Many years ago, there were prophecies in the eastern hemisphere, precisely in Israel where the Israelites and indeed the whole world were assured of a messiah who would deliver them from bondage. Although, those prophecies were believed in entirety, but when (and where) this messiah would be born constituted a problem. This was because those prophecies were uttered when the Israelites were under the Roman empire. Yes, they were under Augustus Caesar-led Roman government which was cruel and wicked.
Despite many prophecies and scriptures about a Messiah-King who would be born in Bethlehem, the Jews refused to believe, and even up till now they still do not believe that that prophecy had long been fulfilled.

This is because they were expecting a political Messiah due to the political situation they were facing as at that time.
The Jews thought that the expected messiah king would be born in a royal house (of Augustus Caesar or so) but that was not to be. That is why they could not believe that the man whom they conspired against, who was killed on the cross of Calvary, who later resurrected as prophesied, and who later returned to heaven in their presence (as witnesses) was (and still is) the expected Messiah.
Senator John James Akpanudoedehe from all indications resembles Christ. His governorship has no difference with that of Christ. Just like Christ, he is a native of a very small village, Afaha Offot (which is the smallest village in Offot). Suffice to mention here without apology to anybody that though every Akwa Ibom person needs a change, desires freedom and prays for a messiah; but as Jews, all of them think such a messiah should either come from one of the families of the six merchants of light (that is the families of Udo Udoma, Bassey Attah, Udoidiong, etc.) but Senator Udoedehe, just like Christ is born from a very neutral place.
The Jews and their governor, Pilate began to hate and plot against Jesus immediately he made his ambition known to the people by reading the book of Isaiah chapter 61. The same thing happened to Senator J. J. Akpanudoedehe. He began to receive threats and create enmity for himself from the Jews of Akwa Ibom the day he made his ambition public. Like Jesus, he is hated by some people in Afaha Offot. Just like Jesus, those he comes out to save from the yoke of bad government are those who are calling for his crucifixion. Like Jesus he is known by many names such as “John the baptist” (that he comes out to make a way for the real messiah), he is called “Landlord” by some “Saraki of Uyo politics”, “son of Akamasio”, etc. But just like Christ, he is not bothered about what people call him, all he knows is that he is the next governor of Akwa Ibom State.
Thanks to God, for like Jesus Christ he does not come out for the sake of the Jews alone, but to save the people from the shackles of poverty, political killing and thuggery, kidnapping, unemployment, ethnicity and hunger.
Like Jesus Christ, Senator Udoedehe is preaching, calling the people to follow him, to beware of wolves in sheep's clothings, and to avoid being misled by false prophets and prophecies. Like Herod, those in power are jittery, calling for thunder to smite him. In fact, those in power have jailed John (not Ononokpono) who was (and still is) calling people to accept the messiah Senator Udoedehe. God forbids! You can kill the prophet, not the message. What 90 percent of Akwa Ibom people want is change. This is a prophecy; John James Akpanudoedehe is the next governor of Akwa Ibom State come May 2011. This is because when the cry of the masses reaches God, He raises a man with a shepherd's heart for their liberation. He raised Moses, a shepherd; Joshua, a shepherd; Gideon, a shepherd, David, a shepherd, Martin Luther King Jr, a shepherd Nelson Mandela, a shepherd, for the liberation of people in diverse climes and times. Now he is raising another shepherd, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe for the liberation of Akwa Ibom people. The only part we can play for God is to join the moving train.

A Messiah emerges when a bad king rules. Moses emerged when pharaoh ruled Egypt, Jesus emerged during Augustus Caesar, Prophet Elijah emerged when Ahab misruled, God anointed David when King Saul became wicked, Julius Nyerere of Tanzania invaded Uganda and saved the people when Idi Amin terrorized the Ugandans. Martin Luther emerged for the blacks in America when the government was not favoring the blacks. Nelson Mandela stood up when his people were subjugated, humiliated, kidnapped, killed and enslaved in their own country. Abdulsalami Abubarkar became the head of state when our country was in dire need of a good leader, etc.
That is why I am convinced enough to tell you that Senator J. J. Akpanudoedehe's emergence is as a result of the fact that Akwa Ibom State has suddenly become a philistinic society where terrorism, nepotism, corruption, hunger, political killing, kidnapping, unemployment and intolerance to opposition reign supreme.
