SEN. UDOEDEHE HIS DECLARATION FOR GOVERNORSHIP SEAT COME 2011

Senator James Akpanudoedehe's declaration to contest and by God's grace, win the forth-coming 2011 governorship poll in Akwa Ibom State is beyond ethnic and clannish reasons. He has so many reasons for vying for the state's number one job. Some of these reasons are political, economic, social/cultural and educational. There, before proceeding, let's look at his aspiration in the following sub-headings:

Political:
When we talk of politics, we are referring to a situation in which the state's human and material resources are mobilized for the development of the state. Therefore, in order to share the state's resources properly, someone must be at the helm of the state's affairs. This shows that politics goes beyond voting. It encompasses decision making. Therefore, one should note that when casting a vote, one is entrusting on a person (the governor for instance) not just one's future and hope, but also that of his children and generation yet unborn. Thus, it is proper to assess a candidate properly before supporting him during election.

Senator Udoedehe is contesting in order to ensure that the resources of the state are properly and judiciously used for the development of the state and her citizenry. He has been local government chairman and knows what it takes to lead and or manage the people.

As a tested and trusted leader, he believes in helping his people and developing the environment. Though every politician advocates for a change during their campaigns, but very few put the people first, even those that claim to have received divine or other forms of inspiration to participate in the critical change process.
This is the time to let the people know the truth. That economic and political emancipation can only come from a competent and caring leader. That prosperity does not come through ethnic sentiments, but through a sound, competent and efficient management of the state's resources.

Udoedehe's aspiration to become the governor of Akwa Ibom State is going to let the people know that freedom and democracy have nothing to do with ethnicity, but everything to do with the formation of good and life changing policies that put the people first and at the centre of strategies for change.
Politics has to do with giving an experienced, exposed and sound person (like Udoedehe) a chance to formulate and implement strategically policies that would enhance economic and political emancipation of our people.

Economical:
Senator James Akpanudoedehe emergence as the governor of Akwa Ibom State will usher in, not just an era of economic boom, but an era where dependent on the allocation from the federation Account and oil would be eradicated. He is industrious and believes so much on industries. It is his desire to bring into the state new industries and regain the old ones. He will create employment opportunities through industrialization of the state.
He has a dream of turning the state into industrial haven through agro-base and other raw materials in the state. He will give agriculture its pride of place by making sure that fertilizers and other farm implements are available to the farmers at subsidized and or near free rate.
The state's resources will never be diverted to personal uses.

Social/Cultural
It is the dream of Senator Udoedehe to create opportunities for people to have better lives by building infrastructures such as pipe-born water, electricity and roads, not only in towns, but also in the interior parts of the state.
It is incumbent upon our distinguished Senator, when he becomes the governor, to restore the dignity of the state as the most peaceful in the country. Presently, there is insecurity in the state such that people are made to live like slaves in their own state. He rises to take over the affairs of the state in order to salvage the poor masses who re now made to live like slaves in their own state.
It is glaring that the vast majority of Akwa Ibom people have become poorer even when the state has become the richest in Nigeria. Survey reveals that the state now earns more than 15 billion naira monthly from the Federation Account and internally generated revenue as at today, yet, poverty is in the increase.
Therefore, Senator Udoedehe is contesting in order to salvage the state from poverty, insecurity, intimidation and ethnicity. The general insecurity of lives in the state has reached an alarming crescendo. No day passes without an incident of kidnapping across the state. This has confirmed a research conducted recently to ascertain the state by which kidnapping has increased in the state. The survey shows that in the last two tears, close to hundred persons have been kidnapped in the state a situation which has defined the Akpabio's era. People are no longer able to move around freely. The illegal road blocks mounted at every corner pf the state's roads can attest to that. Peoples of the state have become like slaves as Mopol who man various road blocks intimidate them with guns and extorts money from the masses.
For the state to regain her lost glory, there is need to have a competent inspiring sound and visionary leader. This is because, a leader with the above qualities is an essential ingredient towards meeting the yearning of the people.
Senator Udoedehe is compelled by the present situation in the state to fight the war of starvation, conscripted to fight the war of personal and collective security, one that has moved from random killing through armed robbery to kidnapping for ransom.

Economic Plans of Senator Akpanudoedehe
The Distinguished Senator John Akpanudoedehe has some good economic plans for Akwa Ibom State. This is informed by the fact ever since the creating of Akwa Ibom State in 1987, there has been no spirited effort in reducing poverty and unemployment in the state the situation which has made the state to become a civil service based economy.
No state can grow along side its contemporaries when the civil service is the main and or major employer of labour. Hence, it is the dream of Senator Udoedehe to reverse the tide as soon as he resume duty as the state governor from 2011.
In order to make the state grow, Senator J.J Akpanudoedehe has mapped out strategies for poverty eradication in the state. But before going into analyzing more strategies, it is wise to state that the government of Obong Victor Attah (1999 2007) has tried a lot to reduce poverty to the barest minimum in spite of the fact that there was no money as compared to Akpabio's regime (2007 till date). There is poverty in the land as never before. The state's funds are concentrated in few hands and greater percentage is conserved for politicking. The present administration has failed to develop the Ibaka Sea Port which Obong Attah started and a lot of others.
Therefore, Senator Akpanudoedege believes that the only way to eradicate poverty is to create employment opportunities by taking the following steps:
