A 65 year old prominent community leader, philanthropist, devout Christian and social mobilizer, Late Chief Peter Philip Umofia of Ikpe Ikot Ntuen, Ikpe Annang in Essien Udim L.G.A will be burried on Thursday,22th April;2010.
A press statement endorsed by the eldest son of the deceased, Mr. Philip Peters said the death of his father has created a big vacuum in the Church, family and community at large, adding that the vacuum might not be easily filled and prayed God to give his soul eternal rest while granting the family fortitude to bear the loss.
The Late Chief Peter Umofia was survived by one wife, 2 males and 6 daughters as well as numerous grand and great grand children and a host of relations left to mourn his death.
The funeral obsequies that will flag off with the service of songs in the deceased compound on Tuesday will be climaxed on Thursday following interment of the deceased by the Methodist Church Nigeria by 10am prompt. The statement invites friends, in-laws, sympathizers and the public to attend the services.
