League hotshot Ahmed Musa has received a major boost in his quest to feature at the World Cup after former international Daniel Amokachi told him he is confident he could make the final cut for South Africa 2010.
Musa's goals and displays helped Amokachi to his first trophy as coach, and the former Nigeria World Cup star took time out to advise the Kano Pillars star that with hard work and the right attitude, he could make it all the way to the final 23-man squad to the World Cup in June.
“Yes, coach Amokachi called me aside and advised me to continue to work because he is very confident I will be finally picked for the World Cup,” 15-goal Musa told MTNFootball.com.
The former JUTH FC of Jos star has already taken his first bold move to star in South Africa in June after he was picked by Nigeria coach, Lars Lagerback, among half a dozen players from the local league in a 44-man provisional squad for the showpiece event.
The other players from the Nigeria Premier League picked for the World Cup training squad are goalkeeper Bassey Akpan (Bayelsa United), Terna Suswan (Lobi Stars), Solomon Okpako (Kano Pillars), Bartholomew Ibenegbu (Heartland) and Gabriel Reuben (Enyimba).
