The meaning of symbolic “earth” is as in Isaiah 24:1-3, 19 & 20. here, the “earth” refers not to the planet but to the human systems of organization under the spiritual rulership; thus, the symbolic 'earth' refers to the visible earthly human rulership. This consists of four elements or parts:
i. Government or political
ii. Social or societal
iii. Religious and iv. Financial or economical.
These are the four systems that make up the “earth” in symbol. Currently, since the fall of Adam into sin, these “heavens and earth' are in the control of Evil Angels and fallen evil men who are the instruments of these fallen angels. But it is this 'heaven and earth' of Satan's rulership is to pass away and a new “heaven” and a new “earth” is to replace it as we can read very clearly in Revelations 21:1 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away,…” Isaiah 65:17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former (heaven and earth) shall not be remembered, nor come into mind”.
What, therefore, is this new heavens and earth? This is the new “invisible spiritual rulership” of the earth and its new “visible human rulership”.
The present “evil world” is to be followed by a world “wherein dwelleth righteousness”. This was that Daniel saw as vision in chapter 7 verses 13 and 14. in it, “one like the son of man” being given an everlasting dominion and kingdom over the people of the earth.
Yes! This world will be under the rulership of Jesus and this is what he actually meant when he said to Pontius Pilate in John 18:36 “… My kingdom is not of this world…” (the second world). This statement has been misunderstood by many people, even among the Christians, having the thought that Jesus was referring to a kingdom in Heaven. But No! Jesus was referring to the “spiritual rulership” of the third world over the earth or the “new heavens” which would be his.
As to the “new heavens” there is to be a “new earth” too with its four parts all new as in Matthew 8:11 “…many will come from east and west and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven”. But why will all people go to them? Because they are to be the human leaders (constituting the Ancient worthies class) as we read in Psalm 45:16. Apostle Paul speaks in detail of these faithful ones in Hebrews 11th chapter. Actually, those men were Jesus' forefathers when he came in the flesh; but in the coming kingdom, He shall become the Father to all in the spiritual.
In this glorious kingdom, a new religious system is operational. There is to be a one world religion with universal knowledge of the true God as written in Zechariah 14:9. There shall be no more confusion on religions about the knowledge, who and what to worship.
Also developed is a new societal system where all of mankind are to equally gain their rights and privileges and the great differences between the rich (“mountains”) and the poor (“valleys”) will disappear as in Isaiah 40:4. Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain”.
A new economy system will also be put in place. None will lack their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter (Isaiah 65:21). The people will then inhabit their own houses, and not have to stay in rented houses- unlike today. This “third world” is to be without end (Ephesians 3:21).
THE FIRST WORLD IN DETAIL: the “First World” or the “World that then was” (2 Peter 3:6) was the period of time from Adam's creation till the day the flood began, a period of 1650 years, (this calculation will be done in subsequent study). As indicated in the chart, the letter 'A' is the period of the 1st world. Man, during the 1st world period lived on an average of or in excess of 850 years. Even in the 2nd world period after the flood, the ages of mankind for many generations exceeded 300 years (Genesis 11:11-15). This proves that as the world progresses the age of mankind decreases.
Again, the 1st world experienced the presence of some angelic beings from Heaven sent down to earth by God. They did not keep their own “angelic” nature but sought to transgress against God's will to mix the human and angelic natures (Jude 6). During the destruction of this world by flood, these giants were destroyed, excepting Noah and members of his family (Genesis 6:17-18). Because “Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations and Noah walked with God” (Genesis 6:9). “Perfect in his generations” refers to the fact that no angelic blood mixed up in Noah's family as was the case in most other families then.
He was also “a preacher of righteousness…” (2 Peter 2:5). Here, Noah did not go from place to place preaching as we understand “preacher” to mean. Well, actually, preaching is of two kinds i. Preaching with the tongues and by words ii. Preaching with action and by example. Noah preached “righteousness” the second way, for action speaks louder than words!
Noah's faith and obedience to God's word's (Genesis 6:22) in building the great ARK over a period of 120 years was the great sermon before the first world. When Noah first began to build the Ark it was known to and visible only to his own family. Gradually, as the Ark grew in size it began to be visible to his neighbours. As time goes on the Ark became larger and was visible to the whole area he lived in. Then finally as the building of the Ark was reaching its conclusion and the giant ship stood on the land, visible to all the people around. Perhaps, much enquiries were made and Noah's answers on the coming flood and the rain might have caused them to make fun of him.
But Noah never stopped his work or lost faith. Indeed, this great labour of his was his “sermon of righteousness”. The Ark sized 300 cubits long (450 feet), 50 cubits wide (75 feet) and 30 cubits high (45 feet). This was done without any technology and machinery of today and with very basic tools. This, perhaps, was why the people laughed at Noah when he talked about rain and that so much to flood the earth. But he believed and showed by his actions.
With such faith, Noah and his family of 7 crossed from the first world to the SECOND WORLD. BE BLESSED.
