Heavenly Family Ends Women's Convention

The women Fellowship of Heavenly Family Vision Ministries in Uyo recently rounded of her 2010 women convention with a call to all Christian women to reciprocate God's love as exemplified in the life of Jesus Christ and translate same to their husbands, children, extended family members, the church and the society.

The well attended gathering which lasted for three (3) days with the theme “We are precious to Jesus”, Matt 12:50,; 1 Cor. 7:2, attracted faithfuls, friends, Partners and supporters of the church. In her homily, the women leader who doubles as the presiding minister of the church, Pastor (Mrs) Ime Sampson charged women to inculcate in them the virtues of our Lord Jesus and respect the marriage vows by being submissive to their husbands, right of others, constituted authorities.

Pastor Ime Sampson decried situations where some women (wives) see nothing good in their husbands and could hardly respect their opinions neither contribute to their ideas and admonished the culprits to refrain since, according to her, women are the embodiment of peace that must be felt in their homes etc. Without which negative vices will continue to brew not only at home, but the church and the society.

As home builders Christian women should ensure that Peace, love, and understanding abound in the home. Her words “No matter how a woman is highly placed, she must accord the husband the due respect as recorded in Eph. 5:22-23 that” wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord, for the husbands as wife, as also Christ is the head of the church”, she recited.

In a paper entitled “The Role of a Christian Woman in the Home”, presented by Evangelist Unwana Ituen, the resource person traced the history of womanhood to the days of Eve, Adam's wife. Evangelist Unwana Ituen enumerated the role of women to her husband to include respect, pleasure, love, care, support, faithfulness, submission, integrity and spiritual watch-dog, among others, adding that Christian women should emulate Eve, a help meet for the husband, Adam.

As home managers, the resource person charged women to always be mindful of their duties rather than shifting them to house helps which, according to her, in some cases may not augur well for the smooth running of the home. Evangelist Ituen listed some of these duties to include that of secretary, head cook, receptionist, house keeper, gardener, raising Godly children and nurturing them to the glory of God, saying that though the work of managing a home is enormous, women should ask God for grace to succeed.

“We really need the Lord's strength to help us to order our steps, putting God first in all that we do. As a model matriarch you don't have to be domineering but see yourself as a helpmate to your husband and accord him the due respect. Read Titus chapter 2:3-5; Prov. 14:1” she said.

The woman of God enjoined Christian women to render hospitality service and show kindness to ministers of God and the needy and charged them to emulate notable Christian women in the Bible in the like of Aquila, Doborah etc. Evangelist Unwana Ituen harped on women to protect their integrity and preserve and protect womanhood in respect to their husbands, for the edification of the Body of Christ and to the glory of God.

Earlier the general overseer of the church Pastor and Evangelist (Mrs) Godswill Ime charged Christians to forgive one another, urging wives to forgive their husbands, and husbands, their wives and extend same to others since that was the essence of Christ's death at calvary.

The women convention, among other things, featured salvation messages, song ministrations, drama, testimonies, gospel music and beautiful choir pieces rendered by the Heavenly Family Voices.
